Peacemaker

“Blessed are the peace keepers, for they shall be called sons of God”

Matthew 5:9

The Bible says that God is the author of peace and Jesus is the supreme Peacemaker. Jesus came to establish peace; His message explained peace; His death and resurrection purchased peace and enables peace. The Word of God established that He would be the “Prince of Peace” (Isa. 9:6). Therefore, as disciples of the Lord we are asked to model Jesus: (1 Peter 2:21) ”For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps” The Word of God also shows us how we are to be peacemakers for Christ, with Jesus as our ultimate example.

God has promised all of us great things when we seek to be His peacemakers. Peacemakers are those who are actively bringing harmony to our own relationship with God, and actively seeking to reconcile others with God as well. However, one cannot give what he doesn’t have. The Lord wants us first to be filled with the blessings of peace and then to pass it on to those who have need of it.

Our prayer today is for God to come and fill us with His peace that surpasses all understanding. Pray for His blessings, and prosperity on our lives so that we may be able to be an example unto others. In Matthew 6:33 it says we must “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Seek the Lord and everything you need will follow.
